violent crime
A criminal offense in which the attacker uses or threatens violent force on the victim These attacks can include the use of a gun, a knife or the offender's own hands. This kind of crime includes both violent acts where violence is the objective, such as murder, as well as crimes in which violence is the means to an end, such as a rape.
